PRAGUE (CIA) - In August Czech transporters paid a total of CZK 535 mln on the toll. This represents a growth by 14.74% y/y. Trucks heavier than 12 tonnes formed 89.2% of the toll collection and the rest was collected from vehicles between 3.5 and 12 tonnes. The toll collection increased 16.16% y/y to CZK 4.21 bln in the period from January to August. The number of active board units registered in the toll system reached 517,000, while the system registered 512,700 vehicles as of the end of July.

According to data provided by the Road and Motorway Directorate, the Czech toll system was able to collect CZK 21.46 bln in the period of its operation started in 2007. This represents an average of CZK 16 mln a day including weekends.
