SUKL shows non-investment expenses of CZK 337 mln in 2009

PRAGUE (CIA) - Non-investment expenses of the State Institute for Drug Control (SUKL) totalled CZK 337 mln in 2009. The non-investment expenses of the institute reached CZK 275 mln in 2008. Income of SUKL from the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacies reached CZK 262 mln in 2009. It was CZK 108 mln up compared with the year 2008, according to data made public by the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry (AIFP).

Foreign firms in CR less affected by crisis than Czech ones
The economic downturn in 2009 had a different impact on local companies depending on their ownership structure. The "Foreign Firms in the Czech Republic" study prepared by Drahomíra Dubská, head of the analytical department at the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), shows that Czech private firms saw the deepest fall in the crisis year with their gross added value sinking 11.7% compared with the previous year.
