PRAGUE (ČIA) – The production of mortgages in the South Moravia Region grew by 61% to CZK 6 bln in H1 2011. The director of Hypotéční Banka’s regional branch in Brno, Pavel Soukup, has stated that the first half of the year brought a new mortgage boom, driven mainly by low interest rates, stable property prices and clients’ willingness to solve their housing situation. The bank has also informed that over 3,700 mortgages were extended in South Moravia in the first half-year of 2011, according to data from the Ministry for Regional Development.
