Household savings grew to CZK 1.55bn in 16 years

PRAGUE (CIA) - Within the past 16 years household savings grew four times to CZK 1.55bn from approx. CZK 93bn to 975bn. This follows from the data published by the ministry of labour and social affairs (MPSV). The data are based on the information provided by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO).

Foreign firms in CR less affected by crisis than Czech ones
The economic downturn in 2009 had a different impact on local companies depending on their ownership structure. The "Foreign Firms in the Czech Republic" study prepared by Drahomíra Dubská, head of the analytical department at the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), shows that Czech private firms saw the deepest fall in the crisis year with their gross added value sinking 11.7% compared with the previous year.
