PRAGUE (ČIA) – The European Commission adopted a proposal to create a single administration point for the VAT payment in the cross-border business on Friday, January 13. According to Algirdas Šemeta, Commissioner for Taxation, Customs, Anti-fraud and Audit, it is a first step towards a One Stop Shop for all electronically delivered services that will benefit businesses as from January 1, 2015. The proposal relates to aspects such as the scope of the scheme, reporting obligations, VAT returns, currency, payments, and records for which common rules are necessary.
