ČSÚ: August inflation 0.3% lower

PRAGUE (ČIA) - According to the data from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), consumer prices in August dropped 0.3% year on year, as mainly prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased. The year-on-year inflation rate amounted to 1.7%, i.e. remained the same as in July. Of the biggest impact on the year-on-year growth of consumer prices were the prices in the segment of housing, while the impact of prices in the segment of food and non-alcoholic beverages slightly weakened. Akcenta CZ analyst Miroslav Novák assesses the development of consumer prices as very moderate without significant inflation pressure.
