PRAGUE (ČIA) – The European Union’s electricity sector needs major investments. This was stated during the 127th Žofín Forum by the government agent for the completion of the Temelín nuclear power plant, Václav Bartuška. He said that lack of politician interest and especially funding is preventing development in this area. According to the EU it will be necessary to invest EUR 1 tln into this area in the next ten years. According to Bartuška projects worth EUR 20 to 30 bln are being prepared in the region.
